Leonard shares…”Invest in personal branding”

“Do you know how to position your personal brand, get featured in publications and grow your social media following? I recently talked to a plastic surgeon. He earns about 50 percent more than his peers. When asked how much the best in Los Angeles made, he asked me if I meant academically or to the masses. I asked for both.

Academically, the #1 top plastic surgeon earns 3-5 times more than what he earns
To the masses, the #1 top plastic surgeon earns 20 times more than what he earns

When you invest in a personal brand, you commit as much time and money as you would into a Master’s degree. A Master’s degree will count as a total loss for the first two to three years, but after that, you will have an average earning potential of $10,000-$20,000 more per year for life. When you invest in a personal brand, you will have a loss for the first two years, but your income grows exponentially afterwards, growing 50 percent the third year, 3 times more your fourth, 5 times more your fifth and so forth.

For example,

  1. Oprah is a talk host who invested so much in her personal brand that she became a billionaire.
  2. Dr. Pimple Popper wasn’t the brightest in her class at med school but now has millions of followers and has one of the biggest dermatology practices in the world.
  3. I went from working at an entry level job and failed at everything I was doing to earning more money than I could have ever imagined by becoming an expert in my space.”
